Movie 21: Is Anybody There?

Movie 21/50
Day 36: June 16th

Bekka and I went to the library for movies.... we came back with around 20... watched? 3?

Well we were working on the bracelets for our business ( www.thecraftychickz.etsy.com ) anywho we wanted to watch a movie and tried this one. It was really really weird at first but after a little while and understanding this BBC video, Bekka and I enjoyed it.

In true fashion of some of those BBC videos it started strange and slightly morbid. It was a little macabre. We figured out that it was about a young boy (I forgot his age) who is quiet and recluse. He meets an elderly man whom he befriends. The elderly man teaches him how to be a kid, how to talk to people, and how to live life rather than just listen to dead people.

The climax? When an elderly man gets his finger chopped off in a magic trick gone wrong! From there everything goes haywire... but hey things end up well. The old guy dies, but the kid learns a lesson. The kid hangs with more old people, making them happy. The dad gets his mullet cut!!!!! (though it still looks terrible) and the mom, who looks like a nice lady, finally gets a break and some of her stress is taken off.

MPAA Rating: PG-13 for Language Including Sexual References, and Some Disturbing Images
My Rating: 9/10 for a cute little kid with a British accent, odd plot, and morbid old people homes
