What Shall We Do Today
Why don't we?
What to do?
Shall we talk all night
until it is bright
eating cake
and typing fast
trying to say
what we mean
"Hello, how are you?
Are things green?"
there's not enough
time to whine
or talk at that
especially when
you ask my why
"Why are you reaching towards the sky?"
Why not try to reach so far
farther than ever before
singing "fa la la diddly do da day"
I urge you to try and climb as high as me
we've been here before
to the moon and space
to saturn and ran a race
around its rings so large and blue
back to the moon in that vast sea of black
with the stars shining so bright
like little lanterns
a guiding light
lead the way
come with me
on a trip to Africa,
or Spain, Italy, France
back in time roping steers, wearing wigs and shouting cheers
All we need is our thoughts
and each other
"Goodbye for now...
See you another day"
Maybe then we will fly away
like a jet, a plane or balloon
anywhere I go is fun with you
