Life: Dangerous, Exciting, New

Is seems that when we are children we only care about a few things meaning: Food, clothing and entertainment. As life goes on we are shown that there are things more important than entertainment. Yeah sure, having a good time is great. Fun things are always amazing. But that is not all we live for, is it?

As a Christian we life for God, but what does that even mean exactly?
I don't know... but I plan to find out.

Somethings I do know about knowing God?

1.) I know it is new, something I have never actually taken super seriously. (Not seriously as in stoic, "ra-ra-ra ima get you" sersious, but a "this is important and deserves more attention" serious.)

2.) I know that it will be exciting. Not roller coaster exciting at all times, but exciting as in "stir your soul" and new understanding. Knowing this entity we call God more should be exciting, and scary and awe-inspiring.

"Angel made a jail break said go
and walk this land & be in awe.
You must obey God
rather than man if you're in awe."
-Badlands by Psalters

God is amazing, I know this. But do I really UNDERSTAND? No. And with the help of my friend Inigo, as my accountability partner, I plan to know him better this summer. A goal that is hard for me, harder than all my 7 other summer goals. I'll be busy, but I think that the deity, the maker of all creation, deserves my attention first.

3.) It will be dangerous. Not in the deathly way, because I am in American and we take this for granted. But dangerous to me, to my thoughts and who I am. I am sure if I take this as seriously as it should be taken I will be changed by the end of the summer. My bad habits may not all disappear but God will be moving and stirring in my heart and changing me from the inside out.

So, as I go on this hard journey, if you ever read this blog, maybe you can pray for me and I will (as per my other goal) try to keep my blog updated. (My other goal is to write here at least every other day, so why not keep it posted on my trip.)

This may not be a board game, but I feel like I am going on a trip through CandyLand, maybe, and my goal is the castle at the end, but I have to go through all the colored tiles and the obstacles that come up.

Love,
~Carollela~
